Depart Adelaide AirportwithQantas Airlines arriving at Port Lincoln 08:45 am to be met byyour tour leader. Firstwe visit a colonyofwild koalas at Mikkira Station near Port Lincoln before travelling through farming land to Wudinna, population 600, stopping for lunch along the way. We will pass Wudinna Rock as we travel into the outback to Kangaluna Camp. After a rest at Kangaluna there is an afternoon tour to begin our wildlife experience, the outback animals thrive in this environment. We expect to see three species of kangaroos as well as emus and manybirds, returning to Kangaluna after sunset drinks at KolayMirica Rocks ( organ pipe formations). Zwemmen met Australische zeeleeuwen en Bottlenose-dolfijnen, het bezoek aan het spectaculaire zoutmeer Lake Gairdner met daaromheen rode bergen en zandduinen en de grote groepen kangoeroes die je onderweg bent tegengekomen... Voor een paar dagen ben je helemaal opgegaan in de ongerepte natuur van de Gawler Ranges op het schiereiland Eyre.
Visit an ochre pit on the morning drive to spectacular LakeGairdner, which is like a piece of Antarctica,with its glistening white salt pan set in the red landscape.Here you can walk on the surface of the lake and look north to see the endless white plain and the striking red surrounds and islands. The red dunes along the lake yield many animal tracks, flowers in spring, interesting vegetation and birds. Photo opportunities are endless. Afternoon we drive through a changing landscape, cigar shaped volcanic rock formations, and lots ofwildlife. You maysee emus and red,western greyand euro kangaroos as we drive through the ancient outback range to Kangaluna Camp. Mornings are leisurelyand allowplentyof time to walk through the bush near the camp. This morning we will walk on Lake Sturt in the Corrobinnie Depression and see the arrayof colour and patterns in the bed of the old lake. This is a geological marvel,with many interesting rocks.Continuing around the lake to Mt Sturt taking short walks in the nature,we observe a diverityof plants and trees. Early arrival back to the camp gives the chance to spot some of the 110 species we have observed at Kangaluna and the visiting animals, or relaxin the stunning surrounds. Early morning drive to Baird Baywe will board the boat for an unforgettable wildlife experience.On the 5 kilometre journeyto a lagoon at Jones Island near Cape Radstock (at 160 metres, it is one of the highest sheer points on the southern coast of Australia) you can watch Bottlenose dolphins ride the bowwave of the boat, and join these magnificent mammals in shallowwater.Cross the bayto visit a resident colonyof rare Australian sea lions and experience playing face to face with these agile and friendlymammals as we wade in protected shallowlagoons. You mayverywell be smooched bythese animals. After lunch on the beach we leave Baird Bayand visit Venus Bay, Elliston and enjoymagnificent coastal sceneryon the journeyto Port Lincoln.
